Terms of Use

Effective: 17 August 2026  ·  Last updated: 17 August 2026

These Terms govern the Android app King James 1611 Assistant (the “App”), optional Together groups, optional LMCloud pairing, optional model downloads, and this website (the “Site”). The Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use Together, the Site chat, or Online Mode; you may still use fully offline reading if you obtained a lawful copy of the App.

1. The product and who may use it

The App is a Christian Bible study tool centered on the Lord Jesus Christ and the King James Bible (1611 edition text bundled for offline use, with display-spelling modernization). It is not a multi-faith or wellness product.

You must have legal capacity to agree to contracts. Together accounts: you must be at least 13, and at least the digital-consent age in your country. If you use the App for a church or family, you are responsible for the people you invite.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate Together access for violation of these Terms, illegal conduct, or risk to other members. Offline Scripture files on your device are not “revoked” by a Together ban; banning only affects the cloud group service.

2. Software license vs these Terms

The App’s source code is offered under the GNU General Public License v3 (see the LICENSE file in the project and Copyright). GPL gives you freedom to run, study, share, and modify the software under GPL conditions.

These Terms do not take away GPL rights in the code. They do govern: (a) the Operator-hosted Together service and Site; (b) trademarks and ministry-name restrictions; (c) user conduct; (d) model files that are not GPL; (e) the KJV text as a data corpus with its own public-domain / Crown-rights situation; (f) disclaimers of pastoral/medical advice.

You may not imply that the Operator, or any modified build you distribute, is Adrian Rogers, Love Worth Finding, or Bellevue Baptist Church, or is endorsed by them.

3. Accounts and Online Mode

Reading, search, Tools, Extras, bookmarks, notes, and on-device Ask do not require an account.

Online Mode is off by default. You agree that turning it on may allow the App to contact Hugging Face, the gated Cloudflare Worker used for Gemma 4 E4B, your LMCloud endpoint, Together/Supabase, and (if you confirm) external websites. You are responsible for the network you use.

If you create a Together account you must provide an email you control, a password you keep secret, and a truthful display name that is not impersonating another person or a ministry we are not. Email confirmation is required before the first Sign in. The confirmation link opens this Site’s Together confirmation page, which is connected to the Together Auth service and tells you when the account is created. One person must not create accounts to evade a ban.

Sign-out clears local tokens. It is not account deletion. Delete the Together cloud account in the App under Settings → Data, as described in Account deletion.

4. Together — acceptable use

Together is invite-only. There is no public people directory. Maximum group size is 50 members (default 40). Catalog plan text stays on the device; the cloud stores ids, checkmarks, custom-plan references, membership, and prayers. Published prayer text is also copied to the public Site prayer wall without names or other account data.

You agree not to:

We may remove content, kick, or ban, and may preserve records needed for security or law. The current Android UI does not offer group chat or posts, but the database has reserved tables; if used, this section applies to that content too.

You grant the Operator a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and back up your Together content to operate the group service, to show published prayer text anonymously on the Site prayer wall, to moderate, and to comply with law. This is not a license to show your name, email, or group on that public wall, or to train a public AI on your prayers.

5. Ask, AI, and teaching voice

On-device Ask is designed to retrieve and answer from local Scripture and local files. Optional LMCloud runs a model on your PC. Optional catalog models come from third parties (Qwen, Gemma/LiteRT community, and others) with their own licenses. Outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or unwise. You must check every teaching claim against the King James text in the App.

The App must not be presented as speaking as God. First-person divine speech appears only inside Scripture quotations. The App is not Adrian Rogers and must not impersonate him or copy his sermons.

Site Tawk AI Assist, if enabled, is a website helper. It is not the in-app Ask engine and is not a source of doctrine.

6. No professional advice; crisis

The App and Site are for Bible reading and Christian teaching. They are not a substitute for a pastor who knows you, a physician, a counselor, a lawyer, or emergency services. Grief, abuse, and suicidal crisis require human help in the real world. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number now.

Together prayers may be seen by other members of that invite group, and the prayer text is also shown anonymously on the Site prayer wall. Do not put medical record numbers, addresses of shelters, or secrets you cannot share in a public request.

7. Distribution channels

Package ids: com.example.kingjames1611assistant (standard) and org.kingjames1611assistant (F-Droid). They are different apps to Android. Data does not migrate unless you export/import a backup.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP, SITE, TOGETHER SERVICE, MODELS, AND LMCloud PAIRING ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ASK WILL BE DOCTRINALLY COMPLETE, THAT TOGETHER WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT SECURITY WILL NEVER FAIL.

Some places do not allow implied-warranty disclaimers. Then the disclaimer applies to the fullest extent allowed, and any implied warranty lasts only as long as the law requires.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, LOST PRAYERS, LOST NOTES, OR SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP, SITE, OR TOGETHER IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID THE OPERATOR FOR THE APP IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH IS TYPICALLY ZERO) OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (US $25).

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited (for example, willful misconduct where the law forbids limitation). They do not limit your GPL rights in the software.

10. Indemnity

If you use Together or the Site, you will defend and indemnify the Operator against claims arising from your content, your invitees, your misuse of invite codes, your LMCloud endpoint, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by the Operator’s willful misconduct.

11. User content and takedown

You retain rights in prayers and display names you submit. You represent you have the right to submit them. We may remove content that appears unlawful or that violates section 4.

Copyright complaints about Site or Together-hosted material (not the public-domain KJV corpus itself) may be sent through the Site chat with: your contact email, the URL or group/content description, a description of the work, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act. We may share the complaint with the user who posted the material. Repeat infringers may lose Together access.

This Site and App are not a general hosting platform. We are not obligated to host every prayer or every group.

12. Governing law, disputes, severability

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state or country of the Operator’s principal residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that GPL-3.0 governs the licensed source code as written in that license, and except where consumer law in your country cannot be waived (then that mandatory law applies to you).

Disputes will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in that place, except that you or we may seek injunctive relief in any court for misuse of accounts, unauthorized access, or IP impersonation of ministries named in these Terms.

If a provision is unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent needed, or severed, and the rest remains in force. These Terms are the entire agreement for the Site and Together service, and they supplement (but do not replace) GPL as to the code. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign Together accounts. We may assign the Operator role to a successor who continues the App.

We may update these Terms by posting a new date on this page. Material reductions of your rights for an existing Together account will apply prospectively. If you disagree, stop using Together and request deletion.
